A New Year's Resolution Guide

A New Year's Resolution Guide

It’s that time of year again; gym memberships are bought, diets are initiated, and of course, savings accounts are opened…New Year’s Resolution’s have been started. We all know that changing certain aspects of our lifestyle can leave a positive and healthy impact on our everyday lives, but sticking to these changes is what gets the best of most people. Here are a few tips and suggestions on how to come up and stick to lifestyle changes and avoiding that cliché New Year’s Resolution trap.

  •  Come up with an attainable goal or change.
    • Christie, our Assistant Director of Sales, says by the end of this year she’d like to be able to do a one-armed push-up. This may seem unattainable at first glance, but Christie works out every morning so fitness is already a part of her lifestyle. She knows it will be a challenge to accomplish this goal, but by achieving it she knows she'll have gained a lot of strength and muscle throughout the year.
  • Write down your goal or change where you will see it every day.
    •  It takes discipline and will-power to change your lifestyle. For the most part, the change a person will be trying to make is something they’ve done for a long period of time. Our Catering Manager, Vanesa, says she has a quote board in her room that she writes her goals to remind her every morning. By having your goal somewhere you can see it daily, it will remind you and give some extra motivation in achieving your goal.
  • Don’t give up!
    • There’s nothing wrong with failure. In fact, failure can teach you how to succeed in the future. If you don’t achieve your goal or change right away, that’s okay. Learn from your previous attempts and set a new goal for yourself.
